I just got this and it does not work for phone calls using earbuds with a mic...** A: Without having the device in person, it's hard to say. I would first double check the connections are tight. I've gone to use my adapter a couple of times and not gotten any sound only to find I did not have my headphone in all the way. Push firmly until there is a solid click. If it is not the headphone connection to the adapter, it could be the connection to the phone. Again, double check that it's a secure and you heard and felt that solid click when you inserted the USB-C. It may be possible the port is dirty. Since it's an S9 it's an older model. On my S10 I had to clean the USB-C port to get it to charge. It stopped reading a connection because of dust and lint build up. What can I say, I like to put my phone in my pockets. And there is the old stand by. Did you turn it off and back on? Irritatingly sometimes for some unexplainable reason that helps. After that and it's still not working, you may have a faulty cord. Try a different device and see if it works there. If it does you know it's an issue with your phone. If it didn't, you can get a refund. I hope that helps.
