If all leads are detached, then you would just press the button. Keep your finger on the button. If no spark, then it is likely faulty, and you would need to report this to the seller. I like the battery level, it uses the older micro USB not C but that is OK for me, it charges OK drawing about 0.3A on my USB charger.This unit is a fixed head that can make it awkward to get into wax melt tea light burners, the other thing that is not so easy is to target the end of the candle wick as it is hidden by the end sometimes, takes a bit of getting used to. the fork ones are easier but once used to where to hold it, it is not so bad.
