I suspect they might even work for downhill chair racing. I'm too old for that, so I'll pass. The old wheels were 30 years old and just came right off. These were a snap to install. It was done in just a couple of minutes.

I have had no issues with the previous set on a chair that sees daily use on commercial carpet. They roll very well compared to the hard plastic wheels that come with chairs. It is a huge upgrade. These wheels add about an inch to the minimum height of the chair, so if you need your chair as low as possible, keep that in mind. I like my chair high, so I can use that to get a bit higher. These wheels have worked for any floor I put them on. Hardwood, linoleum, low-pile carpet, and tile. They roll nicely across parking lots too, not that that is something you should do often. The wheels do not grind into the floor either. They are soft and forgiving so if you have nice floors, these wheels are great to protect them from damage. The soft yet firm rubber of the wheels is much much quieter than the hard plastic wheels, especially on hard surfaces. I recommend these wheels.

I have purchased these wheels in the past so I am confident in their quality. I have had no issues with the previous set on a chair that sees daily use on commercial carpet. They roll very well compared to the hard plastic wheels that come with chairs. It is a huge upgrade. These wheels add about an inch to the minimum height of the chair, so if you need your chair as low as possible, keep that in mind. I like my chair high, so I can use that to get a bit higher. These wheels have worked for any floor I put them on. Hardwood, linoleum, low-pile carpet, and tile. They roll nicely across parking lots too, not that that is something you should do often. The wheels do not grind into the floor either. They are soft and forgiving so if you have nice floors, these wheels are great to protect them from damage. I cannot believe for a second that it took me so long to A) realize I could simply just change the wheels on my office chair and B) to just do it! Only when my husbands office chair in the garage which had a couple non functioning wheels for a long time, and I decided to just go on Amazon and order new ones, did I think that I should and could do that for my own chair. And boy am i ecstatic that i did. I chose this style as opposed to the common style for office chairs or the new roller blade wheel style because I wanted something that sort of matches the typical office chair style wheel, sort of, but closely enough. These glide noiselessly and smoothly. Before, without fail, i would have to shift my body in 3 different directions to get the old wheels to figure out which way i wanted to go and then to go there! Now I can move about my office (on vinyl wood-LIKE tongue and groove planks) without disturbing my lab mix sleeping beneath my feet under my desk. I can also now get up, go run to the bathroom without a sound that would wake that same dog up when sleeping upstairs..... so i can "take care of business" without him running down to that bathroom to see what i was doing and ask for another treat. (And to check the last few boxes, there is no way these will mark up any floor, they appear to be of superb quality and i have to assume that all 130# of me (plus probably another 200#) would easily be accommodated by these wheels. One word of warning...they may take a little getting used to. On the first day i could see how these MIGHT be dangerous because they flow so effortlessly that you have to learn to make small movements or you might crash yourself into something. :) UPDATED REVIEW. I just needed to add to my earlier review of these office chair casters. I use the chair every day for hours on end and I cannot begin to tell you how ecstatic i am that i decided to buy these. They are soundless. No, readjusting my seat in order to get the chair to move but most of all, the sleeping lab under my feet no longer wakes up and moves because of a loud sudden sound or because i almost rolled over a part of him. I can glide from one end of my long office desk to the other and back and these glide like you are floating on air, smoothly and completely silently. Do not delay. Buy these.
