There is no colour shift; just a reduction in light. The build quality is superb. They are not cheap, but they are nowhere near as expensive as some 'influencer sponsored' VNDs which still cause a colour shift. It comes with a snug-fitting protective cap that means you can leave the filter permanently attached and use the filter cover as a lens cap. The hard stops prevent forming an X pattern. The filter is aluminium, but is sufficiently hard and perfectly machined that it goes on and comes off smoothly, like brass.
