It may lock in other angles, but I have not tried it in angles other than parallel or perpendicular to the handle. I also will mention that this unit has performed admirably and I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase. I was able to remove old tile (put down in the 1950's with thick-set. I found it works best at lower speeds and sharp angles of attack. Take your time and you won't work up any sweat, letting the tool do the work. Hope this helps. **Q: Does this have a 3rd setting to drill w/o hammer option so can core drill** A: It has 3 options: 1: drill without hammer, only spining, 2: drill with hammer, 3: hammer only for chisel. No spinning... **Q: No torque rating? Does anyone know the torque rating or max hole saw size in wood and steel?** A: I don't know that I would use it for wood, though I guess you could. It can be set to drill, to jack hammer, or to drill and jackhammer combined. Also, don't know about torque, but I found it to be sufficient for all applications I've tried it in.
