At first I believed it was because the dough hook was not securely attached. However, that turned out not the case because it consistently rains small bits of metal like filings -- similar to graphite -- on the dough hook and into my dough after a few minutes. It caused unpleasant-looking gray streaking in my bread and pizza dough. This also occurs while running by itself, with nothing in the bowl.The pictures posted show the gray greasy particles produce after running 5 minutes without mixing anything.I contacted Smeg Service and they politely said that they would not replace or repair because I contacted them just passed the one-year mark despite notifying them the problem occurred within the one year of purchase. Rules are rules and they offered absolutely no help.
