très beau guitariste, les parties à la guitare sont d'une grande finesse le cd n'est cependant pas très homogène et on retient surtout la prestation de Diego Barber

Calima が印象的だったDiego Barber (g)のセカンドです。JAZZ界で生ギターの名手といえば、Ralph Townerか？そのRalph Townerばりのしっとりとしたギターの音色で始まる本作。そういえば、編成もOregonのそれと同じ。しかし、Oregon ほどクールにならないのは、Seamus Blake (sax)やMark Turner (sax)の体温のせいかも。時に熱くもなるサウンドには、Ari Hoenig (ds)の歌うドラムも貢献しているようです。今回、Mark Turner がFlyの時のようにフワフワしていないのは、Ari Hoenig のせい？主人公のギターがかき消される局面もありますが、Larry Grenadier (b)などの面子に期待する向きには無関係かも。というわけで、ギタリストがリーダーなのに、ラストの方でそれこそRalph Towner的ソロ曲が続くというのに、もう少しギターを聴きたい気持ちにさせるという、不思議なアルバムです。
