## Description

A clever and steamy queer romantic comedy about taking chances and accepting love—with all its complications—from the author of Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail . Delilah Green swore she would never go back to Bright Falls—nothing is there for her but memories of a lonely childhood where she was little more than a burden to her cold and distant stepfamily. Her life is in New York, with her photography career finally gaining steam and her bed never empty. Sure, it’s a different woman every night, but that’s just fine with her. When Delilah’s estranged stepsister, Astrid, pressures her into photographing her wedding with a guilt trip and a five-figure check, Delilah finds herself back in the godforsaken town that she used to call home. She plans to breeze in and out, but then she sees Claire Sutherland, one of Astrid’s stuck-up besties, and decides that maybe there’s some fun (and a little retribution) to be had in Bright Falls, after all. Having raised her eleven-year-old daughter mostly on her own while dealing with her unreliable ex and running a bookstore, Claire Sutherland depends upon a life without surprises. And Delilah Green is an unwelcome surprise…at first. Though they’ve known each other for years, they don’t really know each other—so Claire is unsettled when Delilah figures out exactly what buttons to push. When they’re forced together during a gauntlet of wedding preparations—including a plot to save Astrid from her horrible fiancé—Claire isn’t sure she has the strength to resist Delilah’s charms. Even worse, she’s starting to think she doesn’t want to...

Review: Fabulous coming home romance you don’t want to miss - Ever have that moment where you enjoyed a book so much but when you get down to writing that review - all you can say is “I really really liked this book - so umm.. yeah go read it too”. Well that was me 4 days ago after reading “Delilah Green Doesn’t Care” by Ashley Herring Blake. I think my mind has now sufficiently calmed down that I can express coherent thoughts…maybe. No spoilers but the book essentially follows Delilah who has returned to her hometown to photograph her step sisters’ (Astrid) wedding and finds herself engulfed in the drama with a cast of characters, whom she wants nothing to do with…well with exception of Claire. Okay so this book is funny - lots of hijinks with uptight personalities with whom Delilah likes to mess with, douche-y fiancés, irresponsible exes, and the other bff(Astrid’s) Iris who is adorably blunt to a fault. The romance between Ashley and Claire is just amazing - chemistry, sparks it’s all there and even though it happens quickly it feels organic and meant to be (sigh)🥰. . But what made this book memorable was how it expertly managed to pivot me through a myriad of emotions between humor and pain at the turn of a page and it was just 😘. I was firmly in Delilah’s camp rooting for her, mainly because I completely related to that feeling of saying “I don’t care” when you experience something painful, it just felt so reeeaaal. So a heads up. When you read: “tearing up” is a possibility but “heart squeegees” will definitely happen. Dialogs, feelings, bantering, steamy scenes were just great and the grand gesture was the perfect end to an awesome read. This is a book that definitely lives up to the hype so in conclusion…. “I really really liked this book - so umm.. yeah go read it too”. 5🌟s
Review: A super fun read! - While the title boasts that Delilah Green Doesn't Care she actually does (even if she doesn't want to). I didn't give Delilah Green five stars but that doesn't mean I didn't fully enjoy the book! Not only was it very well written the side characters were exceptionally well developed which only served to make the story that much more engaging. Delilah and Claire are fantastic together and I absolutely adored their chemistry. From their first meeting after not seeing each other in so long to the end of the book I truly enjoyed their interactions, though I do wish they'd been a little bit better at communicating. While Delilah and Claire are the focal point of the story that wasn't the only relationship that I found myself intrigued by. In particular I adored the complex history between Delilah and her step-sister though I do wish it had been touched on a bit more in the book. Since Astrid is getting her own book I'm hopeful we'll get to see more of that story unfold and develop. The friend group was another fantastic part of the book, I don't want to spoil too much but it was another amazing layer to an already rich story! I think the only thing I didn't enjoy was the relationship between Claire and Josh because I didn't feel like she really held him accountable enough for skipping in and out of their daughters life for the past eleven years. I wish they had explored Claire taking a harder line with him. Overall, a fantastic book with amazing main and side characters!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best sapphic romance I’ve ever read
*by A***E on May 6, 2024*

I have been searching for a wlw story that I love. And of the many I’ve read recently, this one takes the cake. There’s a melancholy to the characters - their history and familial dynamics that I could feel all the way to my soul. As much as I was rooting for Claire and Delilah, it was Delilah’s relationship with her sister that drove much of this story. I spent much of this time yearning for them to have it out. And loving that about it. Everything about this felt raw and real and visceral to me. As soon as I finished reading it, I looked up fanfiction. Because I need more of Delilah Green and Claire Sutherland in my life. Their love is beautiful and I think I felt seen by them too. Especially as the lonely, weird kid who escaped into TV shows growing up and just wanted people to see her and love her. And now as an adult exploring my sexuality for the first time, I feel like this book healed a small part of me. This book destroyed me. It was utterly perfect. I’m gonna go keep crying about it now
