Always loved Sheaffer (especially the older USA made pens; this one isn't). This is an economy pen but it is still worth it. Bamboo lacquer is pleasing, pen writes well, though it seems more a medium than the fine it is supposed to be. Though I'm using Sheaffer ink, it could be thin ink that runs too quickly. The grip is just metal, so that may take a little bit of adjustment. Also, I've read that the Sheaffer 100 transmits ink from the cartridge very slowly. This is true. At first, I was concerned that there might be a defect, but it just took a while for the ink to get through. This problem mainly occurs when you're filling the pen for the first time.The writing is so smooth.
