The case is a nice weight of aluminum. It does not come with batteries. The battery cassette is a cheaper looking plastic. The light operates with one setting and has the on/off 'button' on the end. It came packaged in a nice, heavy cardboard box and arrived on time. BTW, you will be surprised at what all appears with the black light.
