LDL stands for low density lipoprotein and since it acts as a transport molecule for fat stores to the arterial wall it can lead to atherosclerosis and hypertension. In a 362 pt meta analysis CoQ10 was found to lower systolic BP by 17 pts and Diastolic BP by 10 pts. Whenever you look at vitamins or medications you have to look at the cost/benefit. Obviously there is the cost of the medication, but more importantly CoQ10 has not been shown to have detrimental health effects, and the benefit is possibly astronomical. However, in my research of Co-Q10, I found that there are differing views as to which is most beneficial. I also found that some believe water-soluble Co-Q10 is best. I have used ubiquinone and ubiquinol, as well as water soluble and not, and believe I have experienced benefits from all. I take 200 mg morning and 200 mg evening along with my other supplements and meds. **Q: expiration date** A: Mine iss good for roughly 4 years after date of purchase (bought 2/2013, expires 9/2017). I will say after having spoken to some pharmaceutical reps over the years, it's not that the drug or supplement will suddenly become 'bad' after the 'expiration date' but rather 1.
