We are very excited to currently be in the final testing phase for NIOSH approval. This testing has many stages and is where other masks get their rating. So far in the process, our filters have been tested to block 99.9% of particulates down to .1 micron. An N95 or N99 rating means that a mask filters at least 95% or 99% of particulates down to .3 micron. However, because we are still in the testing phase, we have not yet received a rating. **Q: How long does a filter last - or should I say how do I know when I need to change it?** A: I replace mine whenever it appears soiled or begins to smell dirty. In cooler weather they last much longer, but may start to mildew in hot weather if not dried thoroughly. Any doubt, change it. **Q: Does this mask filter out fumes as well as particles?** A: Our F1 and F3 active carbon filters are very effective towards certain fumes and odors. However, different products can contain varying ingredients that may require different levels of respiratory filtration. We always advise you to follow the manufacturer's safety instructions for the products you are using. RZ Mask should only be used with VOC free or water based products. **Q: Is there any kind of replacement filter valves? The gasket came out of one of mine so it isn't actually filtering.
