I bought this AAA 24-pack mainly because they were a great sale price. They were received more-or-less half charged. I charged the first 16 pretty quickly in my 8-slot charger., reserving eight for testing. On one, I did a run-time test with an Olight i3E EOS one-cell, AAA, 90 lumen flashlight that is rated for 45 minutes with an alkaline battery. I've gotten runtimes in the past with a NiMH battery of about 60 minutes, and 70 minutes with a 3600 mWh lithium ion battery. With this 850 mAh desertcart Basics battery I got 70 minutes at full brightness and then 20 more minutes at progressively lower brightness before it winked out. The other seven batteries to test I put on my Tenergy 456 charger/tester to do a full charge/discharge/recharge cycle. ALL seven batteries exceeded the rated capacity, with six of them exceeding 900 mAh capacity. I'm super amazed since few of the various batteries sold through desertcart rated at 1,100 mAh check out even as high as 900 mAh. They also came well assembled and nicely packaged. BTW, the ones I received are not marked "High Capacity" but they are marked 850 mAh. That makes me think that desertcart may have more than one company making these for them, so your mileage may vary. Replace all batteries simultaneously and consult the device manual for specific requirements. - Charger Tips: Use only Ni-MH specific chargers with independent charging channels and voltage monitoring to prevent overcharging or undercharging. Isn't 800 mAh standard?** A: Duracell and Energizer alkaline AAA batteries are 1150 and 1200 mAh respectively, so claiming 850 mAh is high capacity is deceptive. **Q: what type of charger do you recommend?** A: XTAR. Check them out. Great chargers. **Q: Have anyone measured the AAA High-Capacity ones? 800 mah is not high capacity so I wonder if Amazon's description is in error.** A: I ran a batch of four brand new Amazon Basics High-Capacity AAA batteries through four passes of Refresh/Analyze on a MAHA MH-C9000 charger with a 400ma charge / 200ma discharge rate. All cells exceeded the 800 mahr rating on the cells but one was below the advertised 850 mahr on the first cycle. All improved with additional cycles as has been reported by others. The final numbers were 893 mahr, 863 mahr, 852 mahr and 867 mahr.Normal capacity AAA low discharge nimh's are rated at 750 mahr. The 800 mahr rating is considered high capacity for a AAA cell. The highest capacity low discharge nimh AAA cell I can find is rated at 950 mahr but they cost a lot more than these cells. These Amazon Basics are good value for the money. **Q: Can these be recharged using a standard "Energizer" NiMH battery charger?** A: I have had no problems with either the Duracell or Energizer battery chargers. As long as your charger is NiMH compatible you will not have any problems. Your charger should have a label which tells you what battery types it is compatible with. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceed Rated Capacity *by A***Y on November 24, 2025* Wow, was I surprised.
