It is a very deep red with slight hints of purple. I think this is the color you want for regular calf leather. If you want a spit-shine, mirror finish, you'll need to put a top coat of high gloss Cordovan Stain Wax or Neutral Wax over the Saphir Creme Polish. Saphir Creme has the most pigment of any polishes available, but it does not polish to a glass finish, because of all the leather conditions it contains.
