They are typically too thin and non absorbent. Use a pipe cleaner made for pipe cleaning. These are made for pipe cleaning **Q: What kind of wire is used? Is it aluminum that will become brittle and break over time or another metal that will work harden?** A: These bend fairly easily. I can’t tell you for sure what kind of metal it is but it is very soft. **Q: Are these cleaners non-shedding? They are thin enough to clean the tube and strong enough not to distort during cleaning.
