I spent hours trying to twist off the old one, viewed several online instructions before I found one that simply said to hit it with a hammer. I did, the chair wheel base came off, and installing the new gas cylinder was easy. This saved me over a hundred dollars from buying a new chair! Just measure the old cylinder first to be sure they are about the same length. The diameter is pretty standard. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As advertised *by C***E on October 2, 2017* It was exactly as I ordered, but I could not replace the one I had. Make sure yours will come off before ordering a new one. ### ⭐ Horrible product. Wasted my money and bought 2 *by V***A on April 9, 2018* Just sinks down to bottom right away. Will not raise unless you help it along by lifting chair with it. Then it sinks as soon as you sit in it.Horrible product.Wasted my money and bought 2 :( --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/36398766-height-adjustable-office-chair-gas-lift-cylinder-replacement-2-diameter](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/36398766-height-adjustable-office-chair-gas-lift-cylinder-replacement-2-diameter) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
