Does it harm any materials thank you.** A: When I was in the Army, we 24M VULCAN System Mechanics used this lube religiously on all of our 20mm cannons prior to every gunnery live fire. This lube worked great: Wind, snow, or rain did not affect it's performance no matter how bad the weather was. I would not recommend leaving excess lube on your firearm(s); wipe up the excess wherever you see it. Because I always did just that, I never got a chance to determine if excess lube affected my firearms in any negative way. HOWEVER, we always applied lots of this lube on our cannons with NO negative side effects.
