I love it.. some might think its gimmicky... DONT... Well made, very flexible neck.. hold shape very well.. Not overly large.. just the right size...It is a great low level reading light, the lamp head has three settings.. low (great reading), medium and high are great for desk work.... (I tried many times to get pictures of the difference between light levels and I could not get adequate pictures). Just know that the levels are perfect...Now for my favorite part of the lamp, the base.... I am amazed at how often I have the base on.. it can be set to any level of color your want... I myself spent 13 years in the Navy so I love the red but the other are very nice as well...This lamp would be perfect in a child's room, a college students dorm or like me.. sits on my computer desk.I know people write reviews that seem to glow (no pun intended) about an item.. and I am as willing to write a bad review as good.. but in this case...
