Review: The most solid smart bulbs - Hue bulbs are relatively pricey, but easily the best option for Home Assistant/ZHA use. They're reliable, colour accuracy is decent, they work as a repeater nicely and seem to have an iron grip on the network. Be aware of the relatively low brightness- especially with very saturated colours. That's just how they work, and not a peculiarity of Hue. If you need a bright work area, consider a higher output bulb- even though the higher power ones are quite a lot more costly. Be judicious with placement and cost can be kept under control. Good lighting makes everything a lot more nicer. A bunch of Hue bulbs with the Adaptive Lighting integration has made things very cosy- much moreso than I expected.

**Q: Anyone using these in an outdoor enclosed/lantern type of setup?**
A: Yes, several lights around the garden. It’s been very successful. Never had a problem with them. All set up as automated routines, just come on as dusk starts. Set to go after so many hours but easy to override using Amazon Alexa.  We had another make before but wanted colour & they look fabulous.  Would not change this set up.

**Q: Do these Color bulbs also have a warm white hue?**
A: Thanks for your question. Yes these do all colours including warm and cool white.

**Q: Can these work connected to an led varilight (modern) dimmer switch?**
A: yes they can but alexa will dim without u useing ur dimmer

I love Philips Hue bulbs, they are so easy to use and give you infinite options to light your room. I use the bridge, and have 4 rooms set up, all on Alexa so can app or voice control them. Simple as Alexa Lamp on, or Alexa make lamp purple. You can control the brightness, warmth, colour, style… all with a simple tap of the phone. I have my set up on a timer too, so they come on once dark.

Excellent light bulbs from trusted brand -- they're not cheap but given that their connectivity and compatibility with the average device is smooth, one could say they offer good value. The lighting is fully customisable, both in terms of brightness and shades. Easily connected (less than a minute) and very compatible.
