Specifically Jojirushi?** A: Yes. But you have to proof the yeast first with 1 tsp of sugar and 1 cup of warm water between 90-110 degrees depending the amount of water the recipe calls for. Mix the yeast and sugar in warm water and let it set for approximately 10 minutes. Then pour the mixture in the bottom of your pan together with other liquids set on room temperature. Add the remaining ingredients then you're set to go. Believe me, I used it once directly on top of the flour as per the instruction in the recipe and my bread didn't rise.
