The illustrations are vague and misleading- after following I had to dissemble and start over. So, use common sense instead. Line up the legs so that the holes for the crossbar fittings line up. Screw the legs on but leave loose so it’s easy to fit the crossbars in to their corresponding holes. Once that’s done, tighten the legs. That’s it. Why couldn’t the instructions just say this? And the included Allen wrench is difficult to use when screwing in legs because there isn’t much turning room, and the Allen wrench must fit into the bolt exactly- I can’t count how many times I thought it was a good fit only to find it spinning like the screw was stripped. Pain in the you know what! Why can’t the manufacturer use screws and include a simple screwdriver? But, once assembled these stools look great! Real wood, not some cheap manufactured stuff, and look and feel quite sturdy.
