It's not 100% level like 2-3 degrees off, but it will hold everything without failure. The spot for a coffee mug seems like it'll hold a good variety of types of cups and the phone holder fits my phone with an otter box around it pretty perfectly. I might try to add some sticky grippy padded tape on the inside of the connection part, but only because I am sort of ridiculous when it comes to design details.
