I moved into a 20+ year old house with an original built-in refrigerator that sill works great, but the in-door water dispenser does not have a filter (GE added filter cartridges to their design a few years later). This filter solves my original problem (needing cold, filtered water) with the added benefits of ionization and PH adjustment.My only “word-to-the-wise” is that you must make sure the filter(s) are fully inserted into the upper housing before using. As an engineer who understands the plastic molding process and a hobby mechanic with very strong hands, I did find it somewhat challenging to fully seat the filters. The instructions are clear, but I don't think they go far enough in explaining that you really must push, pull, twist, coerce, and otherwise force the filters to fully seat. At just about the point where I felt like something was going to break, it fit. If your results don't look like the close up picture of the top of the filter, there will not be a "seal" between the filter and the housing. This is what engineers call an “interference fit,” but it can be done by hand with patience and elbow grease.I also took a picture of what happens when you fill this system to the point where water remains in the upper housing. It’s not made to do that. This is designed to store water in the lower housing only. The upper housing is only supposed to hold water long enough to allow it to go through the filters to fill the bottom reservoir. If you over fill the whole thing (as shown in one of the pictures on purpose), water will escape from the between the upper and lower housings. Just stop filling the unit when the lower housing is full of filtered water and it won’t leak. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Taste so good! *by E***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2019* Obsessed! I changed from a brita filter that tasted like chlorine to this amazing filter that taste what I imagine heaven taste like!! Easy to setup. Take a while with the filters and the dumping of the water but shoot I don't have to change the filter for 6 months?!?!! Right on! I've had this for a couple weeks now and I'm so happy I made the switch. I was worried with some of the reviews, but it taste great and isn't leaking so I am very happy! ### ⭐ The worst filter ever. *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2019* Basically this whole water filter was a nightmare.It took an hour to set up. You have to clean everything then fill the whole tank twice and empty it and then fill it to use it, and all of this would be fine IF at the end it actually worked. Once we followed every instruction to the “T” and put it in the fridge and finally drank some it tasted more like chlorine than our original filter, and then leaked in our fridge and made a HUGE MESS!!! This was a huge mistake and the worst purchase ever.
