While they seemed to spend the manufacturing money on the fishing rod style handle, they really cheaped out on the rest. I could see the start of fraying around the string holes. The casting part did help my young kids and I have success in flying the kite but it took me awhile to figure out how to get the string to release (the instructions could use some diagrams) which I think is one of the main reasons to buy this kite. Once we did figure it out, it sometimes released well and sometimes needed some wiggling and tugging . It would also be nice if the rods fit more snugly into the kite-they came loose a lot for us.
