The two layers of material are sewn together with strong seems. This brands quality makes this a completely different set of handle covers than the other sets that I had tried. The first set I had tried were so cheap and flimsy I was going to just not even use any handle covers. The second set were not much better. I'm glad that I decided to try this brand before giveing up. These covers can be reversed and have a new side. These handle covers look and feel very nice. They clean up easy. Just pull off and wash.
