You should not use static rope for lead climbing or top roping. I would not use this static rope for tree climbing either. I have purchased other cheap ropes online, and other ropes that I purchased tend to bunch or twist easily. This does not bunch or twist. I can tie knots in it, and they feel secure when properly dressed. I used to use this with pulleys to hoist and suspend a heavy (maybe 100lb) cargo bike from my garage ceiling at my old condo where i had a very high ceiling in my garage and little space. I now use it mostly to hoist equipment up to my roof from a balcony when i clean my gutters. I do not use it to secure myself on my roof— i use a 9.5mm dynamic climbing rope for that. But this one is good for hoisting my battery shop vac or leaf blower up to the roof. Again, it keeps its shape, it coils pretty easily, it does not twist or bunch.
