Review: How do you know what is good for you to eat? - We've heard "You are what you eat" but what most folks have not heard is that what you eat may be healthy for some people but unhealthy for you. This valuable book explains the what and why of how various foods are good for some but bad for others, depending on your blood type. This 25th year revision contains the complete food lists that were not in the original book so you have it all in one place. It is based on years of research by Dr. D'Adamo which actually started with his father decades ago. If you actually follow the food guidelines for your blood type it can make a huge difference in your overall health and energy level. I know that from experience. If you play with it and "cheat" a lot it won't make any difference at all. "Diet" means what you eat, not some list of things to eat to lose weight. This is not a weight loss diet, but a life style plan with food lists of the things that are beneficial (helpful) for your body and the things that are making you sick, or at lest less than as long term healthy as you should be. The great thing about this Blood Type Diet is that you will lose weight if you need to, or you will gain weight if you need to. (Yes, some people are too skinny for good health.) If you look at the "avoid" food lists and say "Oh I can't give that up. I love it!" it is possible that "it" may be what is making you sick, tired, fat, or whatever else is less than healthy. If you look at the list of "beneficial" foods and think "What delicious meals can I make with these ingredients?" you are on your way to the right path for yourself. It changed my life. This is the 3rd or 4th copy of this book I've purchased because I keep giving them away to folks who need this information and are interested enough to do the work involved. For a lot more in depth knowledge of blood type life styles, also look into Live Right 4 Your Type which is a lot more advanced in explanations and terminology. However: Eat Right is a great place to start.
Review: It Works! - I am not sure that the book is 100% accurate- but I will say that it is lifechanging for my family. The author's claims that people's bodies, digestive systems, and immune systems are affected by their blood types is extremely compelling. I found that for my family, (types O and A) the information in this book was basically spot on. My family members grab this book regularly now, to see what it says about a particular food. We found a way to follow our respective diets exclusively for 5 days, and most of us felt about 50% healthier after 5 days on our respective diets- which is pretty astounding, if you think about it. I would highly recommend this book.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This should be required reading for doctors

It’s hard to believe that doctors don’t have any working knowledge of how much blood types affect our health. Why aren’t they taught this in med school? I can’t help wonder why more doctors don’t teach people about eating for their blood type—how they’ll feel better, have more energy, and lose weight as an added bonus. The first part of the book may seem tedious if you’re wanting to skip to your blood type’s foods, but please don’t. Understanding how our blood interacts with everything we eat may help you stay on task, with only occasional slips. I didn’t read much of the first chapters many years ago and the result was that I made a few important changes (no wheat for me), but forgot about others (I love dairy but it’s a hard NO for me). I couldn’t figure out why I felt awful all the time. Turns out practically everything I eat should be off limits. As I start eating the right things I’m looking forward to feeling much better by next week.
