Review: The Best Solution for Tough Sewer & Septic Buildup — Works Fast and Keeps Lines Clear! - I’ve been dealing with slow drains and stubborn sewer line buildup for years, and honestly, this Roebic K‑97 Liquid Main Line Cleaner has been a game‑changer. This product actually works — not just temporarily, but consistently — and has become an essential part of my home maintenance routine. What sold me on this cleaner right away was the science behind it: Roebic uses beneficial bacteria and enzymes to digest organic wastes like paper, grease, fats, and sludge that tend to build up deep in sewer and septic systems. It’s not just a quick dissolver — it breaks down the stuff that causes recurring clogs, so you see real improvement over time. And best of all, this happens without harsh chemicals, which is important when you have septic systems or older plumbing. I’ve used the K‑97 both as a preventative measure and to tackle existing slow drains, and it has performed beautifully in both cases. After adding it according to the directions, I noticed a measurable improvement in flow within just a couple of days. Toilet bowl water clears faster, sinks drain more smoothly, and the whole household plumbing feels less sluggish. One of my friends with a septic tank noticed fewer odor issues after regular monthly treatments too, which is something I’ve seen echoed in other reviews. This liquid cleaner is also extremely easy to use — just pour the recommended amount down the toilet or main drain (preferably at night), then let the bacteria go to work. There’s no need to mix, heat, or handle harsh chemicals, and there’s zero risk of damaging pipes. That peace of mind alone is worth it, especially if you live in an older home or care about long‑term plumbing health. Another big plus is how economical it is. The 32‑ounce bottle goes a long way — a single bottle treats your system multiple times if you follow the dosing schedule. Many users, myself included, buy this periodically as part of routine maintenance, and most say they see better results than with traditional chemical cleaners. I’ve tried plenty of products that claim to fix septic and sewer line issues, but very few actually deliver consistent results. With Roebic K‑97, I finally feel like I’ve found something that lives up to its promises. Clogs that used to stubbornly come back rarely do now, and everything stays flowing smoothly between applications. My only small note is to be patient — because it’s a biological cleaner, it works with your system over time rather than “instantly blasting away” like a chemical might. That’s actually a good thing for long‑term health, but it’s worth knowing before you use it. In summary: This product is powerful, safe, and surprisingly effective. If you want a reliable way to keep your sewer line and septic system clear of organic buildup — and avoid harsh chemicals — I can’t recommend Roebic K‑97 highly enough. It’s become a staple in my home care toolkit, and I’ll definitely continue using it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: Using For Rehabbing 1960's Townhouse Drains - (skip ahead to SO WITH THIS PRODUCT if you have better things to do then relive a 1980s crutchfield catalog with this review) Purchased several bottles of this Main Line Roebic to Rehab several Drains in my "new to me" c. 1969 Townhouse. Over just 2 months living here, I've noticed a lot of Plumbing Company Trucks coming and going in the condo complex. Previous owners of my unit were not exactly maintenance conscious. The place was disgustingly dirty, and I had to replace HVAC, water heater, all appliances, $10K in flooring, and a badly rotting patio fence. And then a same building neighbor told me that the drainage plumbing in our complex is not the best. It's like spaghetti in some places, and the complex installed low flow Loos years ago. Thus the plumbing trucks spotted around every week. The trucks all have bright, cartoonlike graphics so it's impossible to NOT see the trucks. SO WITH THIS PRODUCT, I'm Rehabbing the main drain line first. The main drain line is a shared line / shared with with a neighbor who's usually out of town for weeks at a time. It's crucial that the neighbor's gone, if I wanna ensure nobody flushes for 6 hours. So on the shared wall drain, I've been doing a 1/2 bottle in the loo, every night or every other night. That's to hopefully clean out our shared drain for 2 Bathrooms + 2 Kitchens. I usually let it sit 6-10 hours total. 1/2 bottle might seem like overkill. But 2 households using a shared line is A LOT of stress on the line over 55 years. After 1-2 treatments of 1/2 bottle per day,... I'll probably cut back to 4 treatments per bottle. IM HOPING this will help clean out our shared wall drain, and whatever's between our front doors to the main underground city sewer line. AFTER SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH TIME skimming over all the products on desertcart, Roebic seems to be the top tier or top 2-3 products. IT'S HARD TO KNOW FOR SURE what's happening inside drains you cannot see. But a good number of reviewers are saying that plumbers dig this brand as one of the few that works. I'd rather use what the plumbers use, and not have to play a plumber $300 + potential damage to walls and floors. SEPARATE FROM THIS PRODUCT, I'll be using 3 $20 bottles of Roebic soap blaster. First bottle for the kitchen drain which is kinda slow. Am I the only person who drains grease into jars? When the prior owners of your new place neglected proper maintenance, it's a good bet they never took those extra steps. Second Bottle will be for the Laundry Wall Drain. Laundry drains always back up when you don't drain into a nylon capped hose, into a separate utility sink. When I have a side sink to drain into, the nylon always clogs up within 2 weeks. THAT'S A LOT IF LINT. Third Bottle will be used on my shower, which is part of the shared drain I rehabbed first. It's been stubbornly slow and I'm hoping this will Altogether, approx $100-$120 worth of Roebic for an inaugural treatment cycle. To put my mind at ease given the brightly colored plumbing trucks drama. Hopefully I'm doing this all in the correct order. I already went through 2 bottles of the Drano for the Kitchen sink and Shower, and it didn't do enough.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: older home and my main line has backed up 4 times recently paid plumber to pressure jet it out. Will this work ok on regular sewer line? any help? tu**
A: My house is 90 years old and I've had trouble with the main line backing up into the basement shower. I had it rotored out once or twice a year, but then finally hired a plumber with a camera on his line. It turns out the the poorly laid garage foundation (from the 1970's, now cracked) allowed a lot of water to erode soil underground and the pipe had dropped down and formed a "belly," where waste would accumulate and have to try to flow upwards to the riser. The plumber recommended that I use a product for septic tanks, adding a small amount to a toilet in the upstairs once a week to keep waste, grease, soap and paper digesting. A year later, I've had no problems. And from what he saw with his camera, he thought that there were never tree roots in the main line. If fact, it seems to be made of metal, not tile. You've gotta love old houses! And hate them, too, sometimes.

**Q: do you put it in all the toilets in the house or just one (for prevention/maintenance)?**
A: I only put it in the toilet farthest from the street. But that is also the one with the clogging problem in my house

**Q: Will this help keep my toilet from "gurgling" when the washing machine drains and spins ?**
A: Probably not. More than likely you either don't have a drain vent or yours has become clogged. If you have them, they usually are sticking up out of the roof. You can simply dump a gallon of water or bleach/water mixture down them and they will clear up. If you don't have them, you would have to add them to stop the gurgling. This product cleans out the crap that has been building up in the drains...it does work...slowly (most safe products are slow), but it does clear the drain. (the fast stuff ends up eating away your pipes)

**Q: 3 story house 3 toilets.
Do I put it in all the toilets or just one, please?**
A: I have a 2,300 sq ft house with 3 full baths and I just put it in one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great buy.
*by A***Y on May 9, 2026*

Although it didn't clear my clog due to issue not caused by organic matter, I do believe it works well based on previous experience with it. Will buy again, especially as a preventative maintenance treatment. Easy to use, just pour and flush. No odors, no foaming, use it overnight for best results.
