I never thought I would ever need to replace a battery in my laptop, as I never have, and happy to know that was all I needed to do! For my model/make, along with specific battery number, my job was extremely easy to replace! I followed all directions carefully, on charging and discharging to "train" the battery to recognize full and empty. As for duration, I am not sure how long it lasts on it's own, but I would say approximately 3-4 hrs without being on power. Since mine is a 17 in laptop, I certainly don't use it with great portability because it's heavy. However, I do feel this is an excellent battery replacement without having to get an OEM product!

The battery replacement for my computer works.
I have been trying to find a replacement battery for my older computer and until it was suggested to me by Best Buy to get the battery from Amazon, I had no luck. I had purchased battery replacements from Amazon previously and did not have much luck, but the Best Buy service person gave me a particular number and he was spot on for the replacement. I plugged the battery into the computer and it worked the first time I turned it on. Granted, it needed to build a charge, but I have been having good success with it, so I can download the information to a hard drive and get the information that I need. Then I can pass the computer on, so someone else can use it. I have two other computers to use. Thank you, Amazon, for carrying a good replacement for my computer.
