**Q: How high up should I place this?**
A: Depends on how high the tank is I have a 24x24x18 and I put mine about halfway up the side of the glass

**Q: What type of magnics are use for this?**
A: They are very high strength neodymium magnets.

**Q: Can it  be used in a chameleon cage?**
A: It will function properly in any cage that has 1/4 inch or less thick walls, including a screen cage.  This was designed to hold plastic cups for feeding geckos which chameleons will not eat or drink out of.  So yes it can be placed in a chameleon cage, but I can't think of any benefit to using it in a chameleon cage.

**Q: Can these be used on plastic tubs**
A: The ledge can be used on plastic tubs without any issues.
