The bike rack came with a short plastic one that did not fit very snuggly. I mounted the reducer upside down on top of the bumper so that neither it or the bikes would scrap the road when driving out of uneven driveways. However, this hitch fits on the bumper like a glove. I did not need to do any modifications, nor did I need a jack or force to have the hitch and screws in place. Install took 2 minutes at most, and it is well secured to the bumper. I like that this hitch is stronger and can hold more weight than the average bumper hitch. I also like that it has a built in loop so I can attach the bicycles security cable onto something. My only wish for this unit is to have a nylon-insert lock nut instead of just the spring ring. A quick trip to Home Depot solved that issue. The unit can be installed above or below the bumper. I installed it above so that the bicycles sit above the spare tire.
