To use you simply slide/hook them to were you want on your inner wig cap, and you are good to go. If you want extra security, you can sew them on as well. I like the option that I can remove these easily and use them with other wigs too. The hold is good. I have not had wigs come out of place when using the clips. As long as you place the clips strategically, you should have an excellent hold where you wig won't slip or slide off staying firmly on your head only.
