I have an outside camera and the download speed was not very good. So I hooked one of these up to an extension and moved it close to an outside wall that has a router on the other side. In addition I put it in one of the little green electrical boxes to keep it covered. I went from 1 meg down load to 6-7 meg download by doing that. The signal needs to go thru the little green plastic box and a vinyl & wood wall to reach the router.
