One key factor is where you connect the devices, ideally they should be on a single ring with no spurs. Additional spurs of extension cables used in between deteriorate the signal, if you keep it in mind and plan accordingly then it works wonders. Not a single reboot needed in 3 years of constant use. I had honestly been sceptical about it working over the power cables, but it does work perfectly. Make sure you plug it directly into sockets and not via extension leads, especially if they are loaded with other devices as the speed may drop significantly (or not be able to connect at all), so rather run a longer Ethernet cable to the nearest socket than an extension lead from it. Note that you need the main unit connected to your router, and the secondary unit (or several units) where you want it in your house. I can achieve close to the nominal 1Gbps when they are on the same ring, and slightly less when on different circuits.
