The first one was subject to the flaws other reviews mentioned, cars not staying on the track and the cars not making it around. this was due to the piece with the Goomba, he was turned backwards which did not let the piece sit right on the floor. When I purchased the 2nd one, it was good and the cars zip around very nice and my son loves it! Top heavy cars, like King Boo and Toad don't work well because their heads are too big and heavy. When the batteries start to fade (usually about a good 3-4 weeks of good use like 3 hours a day), the booster won't send them around as fast as they should but when you put in fresh batteries, everything is right.
