The book appears to cover the basics well in not a lot of pages and it comes with online lessons to watch which are handy. The URL for these is in the book. I wanted something I can use to teach myself and a paper book never needs batteries! The online videos are useful and the presenter talks to you; I definitely found them worthwhile. The book as such does not have songs which is just as well because that kind of thing can be a bit hard to follow if you don't know what a particular song sounds like.
