The original remote that came with it eventually gave out just through wear and tear. I ordered a replacement and although it looked like the original it was lightweight flimsy plastic and never quite worked properly. This remote is exactly like the original remote made of machined aluminum and it also came in original Apple packaging. It worked perfectly right out of the box.
