**Q: What is the source of Lactase in this preparation? Thank you.**
A: The active ingredient is apparently Kluyveromyces lactis.  I got the following information from Wikipedia:-

Kluyveromyces lactis is a Kluyveromyces yeast commonly used for genetic studies and industrial applications. Its name comes from the ability to assimilate lactose and convert it into lactic acid. Kluyveromyces lactis is a yeast which has the ability to assimilate lactose and convert it into lactic acid

**Q: What is the best before date?**
A: The date on mine is 06/22,  but I have had them since August,  I am not worried.  I have used this product before.  It is perfect for taking on holiday where it is impossible to buy lactose free milk etc.
I just leave a bottle in my suitcase, and despite having used it whilst considerably out of date, so far I haven't had any problems

**Q: How many liters will one bottle treat? or how many “drops” per bottle please? this would help work out cost per liter. thanks**
A: Been using this for some time and find that 6 drops per litre (a 2 pint carton) works well for me and my family. You can use  6-12 drops per litre - I would start at the minimum and raise up according to your lactose intolerance. I also add 6 drops to a litre of plain yoghurt.
Remember it takes 24 hours to fully work, but the plus side is that your milk and yoghurt last longer with the lactose broken down.

**Q: How many drops are in the 15ml bottle, roughly?**
A: General rule of thumb is 20 drops = 1ml

These lactase drops are a life saver for me, I've had lactose intolerance since the 1980s and with their help I can drink milk - lots of it! I've become increasingly intolerant over the years and now have to add 15 drops to a litre of milk and refrigerate for at least 24-36 hours. The cost of the drops has steadily increased as well, but at £9 a pack it is still cost effective and much more reliable than taking lactase tablets. They do make the milk taste very sweet though, so I may switch to lactose free milk in the future.

I adore milkaid products, as I have mentioned in another review and this product makes lactose reduced/free milk at home easy and so much more affordable. This will be a staple in my house for a long time to come I hope.
