I'm not going to into it technically, there are other superb reviews that do this. Rather, I'd prefer to give my personal angle on why I went for it. I was not initially sold on the aesthetics of this, but once I'd seen the watch in the flesh all doubts evaporated immediately. This is a big, rugged G. It's super comfortable to wear and I've had plenty of admiring comments from both sexes when wearing it. Aesthetically, the black, steel and red work perfectly. Functionally, everything that Casio do so well is here. Control is very well thought out and whether its home, on my bike or lying in bed everything I need at that moment is completely intuitive. The best thing about G-Shocks is that they can take an absolutely pounding and still look like they were bought yesterday. This has been on holiday with me already this year (Florida 2015). It been in pools, the sea, searing heat, covered in sand / mud / sweat, dropped (at least) twice and ding'd (is that a word?) off steel and concrete. I brought it home, ran it under the tap and cleaned it with soap. It looks brand new. I wear it with my suit :) and can help but notice I am not alone in this trend. Swithering? Buy it. You will not regret it one bit. Review: Great Watch! - I've only had this watch for less than a week, and I'm still learning how to use all of the features. I've never had a G-Shock before, so I'm learning everything from scratch. It's not very difficult, though, once you get used to how the buttons work together, so don't let that dissuade you from getting it. Be warned, however -- the instruction manual that comes with the watch is in Japanese. That's not a problem, though, because you can download an English manual in .pdf format on Casio.com. The instructions are pretty good, and after a few minutes, you'll get used to how it works. The watch is big and looks awesome on my wrist. It's not heavy though, and the carbon fiber band is really comfortable. Even though I've only had it a week, I forgot to put in on one morning because I was in a hurry, and I "missed" it after I left the house. The display is clear and easy to read, and the sensors are very accurate. I read somewhere that some people were having to wait to get a good temperature readout. The manual says to calibrate the temperature with an accurate thermometer while it's on your arm. I did that, and everywhere I have tested the temperature, it's been dead-on accurate right from the second I check the temperature. I haven't had to take it off my wrist or wait at all. It immediately adjusts. I suppose that's a warning to everyone to take your time to go through the instruction manual and set it up properly. Doing that helped me learn the watch controls, and I recommend everyone doing the same. The only negative thing I can think of to say is relatively minor -- the backlight only comes on for a couple of seconds before turning off. I'm certain there's a way that I can control that, but I've yet to get to that part of the learning curve. Beyond that, it's an excellent watch that is rugged and tough and great for any outdoorsman.
