This will be great for trips longer than 30 days (maximum number of days USPS hold mail for) as I can just remove it via the Velcro straps that secure it to door and just use a big box for six week or two month trips. It also blocks the view in as it hangs over the slot from the inside, so no one can peek in (in case it's mounted on an entry door). Doesn't obstruct walking in garage with garage door open.
