## Overview

The Midea Cube 35 Pint Dehumidifier combines powerful 35-pint daily moisture removal with smart Wi-Fi control and Alexa compatibility, covering up to 3,500 sq.ft. Its unique lift-and-twist design offers triple the tank capacity of traditional units, reducing maintenance frequency. With continuous drain options, auto-restart, and washable filters, it’s engineered for efficient, quiet, and flexible humidity control in large residential spaces.

## Description

The Midea Cube dehumidifier has a unique lift-and-twist design that offers unparalleled flexibility and capacity: when operating in extended form, it has up to 3 times more water tank capacity than traditional dehumidifiers and can run longer without the hassle of frequently emptying the tank; when in nested or drain form, the unit is half the size allowing compact storage or flexible draining. It can fit into most rooms and maintain the desired humidity level in your home. The patented sensor and wi-fi enabled app allow you to monitor the humidity and water level, all at your fingertips. With multi-directional air intake and up to three different fan speeds, it is powerful enough to dehumidify your room, and quiet enough that you'll forget it's even there.

Review: Very happy with this purchase! - It works! I live in a high-humidity area. I purchased a house that was built in the 1950s. It has moisture and mold issues. None were visible due to everything being recently painted. I learned of the problem after I moved in. I have been fighting humidity and moisture for the entire six months that I have been here. I have a one-room dehumidifier that is a few years old. It is not Energy Star compliant and certainly had an impact on my power bill. It did a good job for one room only, but it also put out a great deal of heat. I decided to do a little research and purchase a whole-house dehumidifier. The Midea brand has great reviews on Consumer Reports and other sites, but the reviews on desertcart are not as good. The main complaints were due to Weight and maneuverability issues. I'm a little on the old side (Shhh...Don't tell anyone.) So, that was something I felt could be a big drawback for me. Long story short, I decided to purchase another brand that had a five-star rating here on desertcart. Reviews for that one mentioned ease of operation, quietness, convenience, etc. All of those comments were true. However, I needed something that removed the humidity more than I needed convenience. That one supposedly covered a much wider area. Sadly, that was not the case. It barely made a dent in the humidity, if any. I have hydrometers in every room, and every one of them measured much, much higher humidity than the display on the 5-star, convenient dehumidifier. I have that one back in the box, and it will be returned. I decided to try the Midea 35 Pint Cube to see if I could handle it. I do agree that it is a little on the heavy side and a little more difficult to lift off the heavy (to an old lady), top part of the cube to empty the bottom. However! It removes the humidity as promised! Every hydrometer in every room of my house measures within 1 or 2 points of what the Midea Cube hydrometer says. This dehumidifier is keeping this old house within comfort and mold-inhibiting levels. The other dehumidifier didn't come close. So, if having a slim, lightweight, easy-to-handle dehumidifier is what's important to you, you won't like the Midea Cube. If you want a dehumidifier that does exactly what it is supposed to do, you will love the Midea. It's heavy and awkward, but this old lady can handle it; you can too. I consider it a strength-building exercise, and I lift with my knees. I almost forgot to mention (it's that age thing) that it also powers on less often than that other piece of junk...I mean dehumidifier that I tried first. It's bound to have a lower impact on my power bill. I truly wish I could give the Midea Cube 10 stars ten stars. If you want the performance that you are paying for, buy the Midea Cube. If you live in a low-humidity area and just want to purchase a dehumidifier for some strange reason that I can't imagine, go elsewhere.
Review: Perfect for what you need it for - I don’t write many reviews but this one warrants it. It’s been a couple years now and this thing is a godsend. Works wonderfully, cleans easy, and it’s convenient. The humidity drops super fast and it’s not noisy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sorry, manufacturer didn't answer this question clearly. Does the unit shut itself off when full, or will it flood my room?**
A: If you have "pump mode" on, it might flood your room. It did for my parents. Pump mode goes off on its own, so you must have it connected to a drain 24/7. On its own because it neither drains fully, nor properly detects the water level.

What happened to my parents was they connected the hoses, turned on pump mode, but it "didn't work". So they waited a few minutes then turned off pump mode so it wouldn't start the minute they walked away. When the bucket got full, they turned on pump mode, stood there for 15+ minutes, then put the hose back. It seemed like manual operation, and after waiting 20 minutes for it to pump out, they forgot to turn it off. Then, in the middle of the night sometime, the pump turned itself on to empty and flooded the floor.

Pump mode is when it thinks the bucket is full. Not when it's necessarily actually full, and pump mode WILL NOT EVER ENGAGE unless it thinks the bucket is completely full. So if your bucket fills in 8 hours and you need to manually move it to a location to turn on the pump before bed so that it doesn't turn off in the middle of the night, you CANNOT have the pump empty the bucket because it will only turn on when 100% full. So you could end up with it turning off in the middle of the night since you can't manually engage the pump. If you choose to manually empty the bucket so that it will run through the night--not an option for my elderly parents, but I empty mine and we have the exact same unit--often the bucket will not reset the water level, so it will turn off when it's "full" when really it only has two inches of water in it.

Make sure you disable pump mode, since the sensor and software are poorly designed and implemented, and it will not engage the pump unless it is at level 4 full or thinks its level 4 full. It will never engage when you set the max fill level below that such as 1 or 2 or 3, will never engage manually when you turn on pump mode, you cannot even manually tell it "I emptied the bucket ahead of time, reset your counter since you use software to assume/count rather than a sensor (which only detects 100% full) which pairs with the software", and if you don't remember to turn off pump mode after you wheeled 60 pounds of water+machinery to a nearby sink and waited 20-40 minutes for it to pump...well,forgetting will leave you flooded.

Midea hasn't QA-tested their products for normal use. Unless we happened to get 2 units with faulty sensors, but I doubt that. I'm 99% sure that they programmed software to assume the fill level, and a sensor only exists if the bucket water level is at the very top, basically a failsafe for the junky software some idiot approved without a manual reset option. What a joke.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for what you need it for

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Work horse!
*by P***E on April 21, 2026*

Ok. First let me say I love this dehumidifier. It’s mind blowing the amount of water it pulls from my home. We dump daily around 4-6 gallons of water! I like the bucket design- it’s very easy to empty the water from the bottom bucket. Just turn off and set the top on something that’s water resistant- I use a big cookie pan :) I dump the bucket and align the top and we good to go till the next day. The problem is and I believe it’s caused by how it’s shipped, because it arrives on its side and the box clearly states do not lay on side. But the sensor doesn’t read the correct humidity. I had to buy and return 3 till I found one that works. It’ll give you the humidity but it’s off buy 20-30. After reading comments I see it’s a common issue. All in all I still highly recommend this unit due to design and how it’s a work horse removing moisture from my home. I have a 1600 sq ft home and the 35pint works great. Just use another sensor to make sure it’s actually reading your home.
