They both did a good job of removing small particles from the pool. This one is a bit flimsy because the frame is all plastic with no rigid stability built in. It does what it needs to, but I got a couple of years out of my previous net. The net will eventually rip or tear over time. Best to store inside or out of the sun. Also protect it from snagging. Overall, for the price, it is adequate. I have resigned to the fact that any fine mesh net will need to be replaced every 2 years with normal usage.
