It is not a true black, more like a charcoal but acceptable. I am able to comfortably store 11 credit cards and one ID in the slots. there is room for more but doesn't close well with more. The magnetic part is not super strong but the phone doesn't fall out. I like being able to separate my phone quickly for a photo or call with out having the whole bulky wallet part up by my ear. The only thing that would be better in my opinion is having a genuine leather case in true black and wallet slots that are easier to open to slide the cards in.
