Its semi soft but not soft enough for chunks to be carved out with heavy chewers. The only complaint I have is the rope. The rope isnt durable and is easily frayed at the ends, like my 7 pound rat terrier u did the knot and frzyed the ends in less than 30 min supervised. Once frayed there is no way to reseal it with heat or retying it. Other than that its a great idea it just needs refinement. Better the Kong version of this type of toy. Kong has the rope part down but their ball is easily destroyed and the ball and rope can be pulled appart easily.
