Review: Part of my standard RC kit. Very versatile. - Works great, must have in your RC toolbox. Very compact too. Dirt cheap for what it can do. Not sure how accurate it is, I guess we would need to compare it or use calibrated equipment to verify it but the batteries I use seem happy with it, they seem properly balanced, I double checked with another device and get the same per cell readings.
Review: Excellent tool, expensive for what it is, would still buy again - I like this meter and use it every time before I go flying to check the voltages of battery packs to match them for parallel charging, and while flying to check how much juice is left after coming down. Works very well for cells from 2S to 8S. 1S works in principle, but you will likely need an adapter to plug your battery into the balance port AND another 2S+ battery to supply power to the unit then. For 2+S packs usage is super simple, just plug the balancing lead into the device and you will get cell voltages displayed almost instantly, very convenient, no need to bother with the XT-60 connector in this case. It can also balance cells and act as an USB power source for e.g. charging your cell phone. I have rarely used the balancing feature, as I always balance charge before flying and a healthy LiPo pack shouldn't be unbalanced after discharging it to 3.8 - 3.75 V (per cell resting) or so anyway. The display is easy to read inside and outside and the user interface is good via three buttons. But again, for its main function of checking cell voltages you won't have to press any of those. I think it is expensive for what it is, but if I lost this one I would get a new one, it's that convenient.

**Q: Can I connect my 4s battery to this to balance while I'm charging?**
A: Use it after balance charging if you need more precise balancing of the parallel cell groups. The p-groups should be within 20-25mV before additional balancing with the BG-8S

**Q: Is this an active balancer, raising the lowest cells? Or does it only lower the highest cells?**
A: No the ISDT BG-8S is definitely NOT an active balancer. It strictly discharges the high cells down to the lowest cell voltage. If the low voltage alarm is set to high it will not even start the balancing. The cell with the lowest voltage when starting the balance will remain the lowest cell until all other cells voltages have dropped below that cells starting cells voltage.

Every review I have ever read or seen states this is an active balancer.  But I have two of these and I can without a doubt say that is false. To be clear the manual does NOT mentions anywhere (that I can find) the balance method used in this device.

**Q: Can these connect to 16s lithuim iron battery**
A: No they are for 2s-8s. Maybe 1s. But definitely
Not 16s

**Q: How do I put the device into continuous auto balance without entering manual balancing modey**
A: I'm going to say no. It's been a while since I've used mine but all indications say that you must enter manual mode first then this unit will go into auto mode on its own.

Use with up to 8 cell lipos, gives voltage for each cell and total, plus percentage of power available. Also can balance all cells to lowest. Highly recommended item and seller.
