Ok....so we can discuss this issue until the end of time. All I'll say is, I applied the G-wax onto my new boots and it was absorbed into the leather...that is a good sign. I used G-wax on all of my boots, both work, walking and dress...and they all looked the better for it. I wanted something other than mink oil which I loathe because of its origins...and I found it in this product. I think I will also buy the Nikwax and use both products. But from what I have seen...G-wax is an affordable and classic treatment for leather boots. The fact that G-wax didn't just sit on the surface but was taken down into the leather suggests it is a suitable leather conditioner and waterproofer.
