I thought this product would help with that. Unfortunately, it didn't take care of that problem, nor does it do a very good job of seasoning my pan. Every time I use this oil, everything sticks to the pan the next time. I never have this problem when I use lard or palm shortening. It smells great (without imparting a weird flavor on the food), and a little goes a long way. I scrub my skillets using a Lodge brand scrub brush and some water. Dry them on the stove with a little heat, and once the water evaporates, I rub a couple teaspoons to a tablespoon of this oil onto the pan with a paper towel or rag. I have been looking for a simpler way to keep my Iron cured and this oil does a fantastic job without cooking the oils in. If uses each time you cook with your skillets or pots (I even have a cast iron Wok) it will keep the iron in a cured mode and keep your iron non stick. Even though we have a full set of triple ply stainless cookware we use our cast Iron skillets more than anything else.
