The lid does not have a gasket seal, nor do the side side panels so I don't think it would be good in standing water. **Q: Is it fully dust proof? Items inside keep clean in dusty weather like uae** A: We actually lived in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, when we purchased this item. We kept it in our “drivers room” and it was worked fine there. I would guess it would work ok out side as it has a pretty tight fit.
