Installation difficulty depends on installation material: Wood- I lag screwed mine into deck stairs; cement could be trickier. However, the manufacturer needs to rethink the packaging. the 3 main parts were all wrapped in mini-bubble wrap. Did an excellent job protecting the finish. Unfortunately, the weighty decorative top piece with curled ends was able to slide back and forth in the package putting considerable dents (1 side only) in both thin steel pieces that cover the mounting plates. I did not consider the damage to significantly impact my good impression of this product. Manufacturer may have to use styrofoam (yuck), but have to control that top piece during shipping. Maybe zip tie the 3 pieces together. Review: Good Product - Easy installation. Some other reviews had issues with the hardware provided but I used what came with the item and it was fine. Wish the instructions were better but otherwise I am very happy with it. I recommend renting a hammer drill from your hardware store. Each pole has 4 screws that needs to be drilled before they are installed. The screws may end up on the edge of the brick which can cause low Strength for the railing. Easily installed. Looks great.Very sturdy. However, a design flaw. The curved end holds water when it rains; too curved to drain out. Thought maybe installed backwards so try reversing railing but still puddles and one inside is already rusting. Going to drill hole to allow water to drain out. Question: we didn't consider that the rail is in the sun all day and it gets HOT...too hot to service it's purpose for a person to hold on to to walk up three steps.
