It does cause hypertrophy by itself IF used on isometric exercises. It does create sore muscles IF used at highest bearable intensity and this is adjusted throughout the exercise and supsequent exercises. I haven't experienced the intense and prolonged sore muscle I would get from working out heavy bodybuilder-style the classic way at gym, but I am also still on level 1 at around 150 intensity on the compex -- I still have 4 more levels and to grow up to 999 intensity. There is nothing lazy about this exercise model. I use it while reading or shopping online. A point of improvement -- videos for bodybuilders are missing -- I had to workout the anatomy of the muscles i wanted to increase and figure out isometric workout for each muscle. Also the pads are loosing grip so i bought a new set after 10 days as well as the elastic bands to keep the pads in place. Overall, though, extremely good product. How does the compex app work with the sport elite 3.0? thanks a lot** A: It doesn't. It will show pad placement but the unit already does that. **Q: Is Usb the charging port?** A: The charge port is USB; however, it is special and normal cables can't fit! **Q: Saw In your comment that it only has 3 electrodes but the picture shows 4? Plus you have a comment that says they only got 3?** A: There are 4 total leads to be able to attach up to 8 electrodes. **Q: Does it allow you to adjust the frequency being delivered?** A: Not frequency but intensity. The programs automatically adjust the frequencies and waveforms of the stimulation to match the intended effect. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does create hypertrophy *by A***R on November 13, 2024* I was skeptical at first but it has surprised me so far. (1 wk used) *by T***E on March 28, 2025* I’ve been using this a Compex machine for a week now. It was dying (the battery) so I went to charge it. That would be the 2nd time EVER I charged it, as I just got it a very short time ago. I was extremely disappointed. I’m trying to use this machine to help heal and rebuild muscles from a damaging accident I had that affected my legs, and they were my top asset, my body is super important to me, so this accident has caused me so much distress. Knowing summer is coming soon, I was trying to use this more and get results I can see, which would be priceless, but when I went to recharge my unit, again- only for the second time, the little micro USB thing isn’t holding it in. There is no snapping in place it just falls out easily and WILL NOT CHARGE! If this is after one week of use, what can I expect in more time 🤷‍♀️. For the overall $200 I paid, I expected something amazing, but this microSD type of charging wire is CLEARLY a massive issue in the design, and I cannot be alone here. I’m not a kid, I’m a 49 year old lady who is very gentle with her stuff, I’m not a child playing with a toy here, so it definitely has ZERO to do with the user, AKA me. I was enjoying it until this happened & when I went to order a replacement, it says *no returns*. I just wanted another one to quickly be shipped out, but sadly I can foresee having even issues still since the charging will be the same and nothing at all happened to it. I consider it a huge design flaw. My chat GBT recommended me to use this for my muscle injuries. Now I’m out over $200 as of now from one week and one charging. Totally NOT acceptable. I’ll be calling the company, but like I said.. even with the replacement, this will likely happen again because it happened so quickly, I’m afraid history will repeat itself. If it DOES at that point, I’m buying another option with a more reliable charging system, so right now I can not recommend this product. I will fight for a refund should I have to. I really wanted to be able to sing this product’s praises. Not at this time, sadly. 1 star! We’ll see if that changes with good customer service and a quickly shipped new machine. It’s not a $10 item, so I’m not letting it go. I hope to be able to raise my review in time. I was loving it until this occurred. Thought I’d charge it and be on my way back to muscle building. Such a bummer today 😢. ⭐️ ** I hope my review, this far, is helpful 😞! ** ## Frequently Bought Together - Compex Sport Elite 3.0 Muscle Stimulator with TENS Kit, 10 Programs Helps facilitate and Improve Muscle Performance, Black - Compex Easy Snap Electrodes 2in x 2in for Edge, Performance, Sport Elite, Wireless Muscle Stimulators, 4 Count (Pack of 5) - Compex Easy Snap Electrodes 2in x 4in for Edge, Performance, Sport Elite Muscle Stimulators – Blue, 2 Count (Pack of 1) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/290435653-compex-sport-elite-3-0-muscle-stimulator-with-tens-kit](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/290435653-compex-sport-elite-3-0-muscle-stimulator-with-tens-kit) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
